JCPenney Jam: Concert for America's Kids Recognizing that too many young children are home alone during the after school hours due to a critical shortage of accessible after school programs, JCPenney created the JCPenney Afterschool Fund, a non-profit organization committed to providing safe and enriching after school programs for America's under served youth in 2001. Wanting to do even more to help, JCPenney created the JCPenney Afterschool Fund in 2006. To propel this critical issue into the national spotlight, JCPenney unveiled the "JCPenney Jam – Concert for America's Kids." Hosted by Dr. Phil McGraw, and televised to a national primetime audience on CBS in August 2006, the concert featured a spectacular line-up of today's top recording artists, all who are dedicated to raising awareness of the positive role that afterschool programs play in the lives of America's youth.

Through the concert and a CD/DVD twin pack being sold in all JCPenney stores and online at jcp.com, more than $2,000,000 has already been donated to the JCPenney Afterschool Fund. Congratulations to JCPenney on winning this year's effort for cause related marketing with their inspiring and unique concept!
