RAC 2008 Winner

This year’s Hall of Fame Winner is:

Mike Linton
SVP and Chief Marketing Officer, eBay

Congratulations to Mike Linton, CMO of eBay, as this year’s inductee to the Retail Advertising Hall of Fame. Mike has made his mark as a marketer in the industry as well as at RAC. He is a continuous learner and student of the industry. In 2005 he told the RAC attendees, Ready, Fire, Aim! He shared his passion and insights on innovation and shared some of the sticky ideas as the CMO of Best Buy at that time. Some of the stickiest were the exclusive Rolling Stones deal, the launch of the Geek Squad, breakthrough work in Cinema advertising and winning Best Buy’s first Effie. When people ask Mike about his success, he is quick to say he has been fortunate to have great teams that make it all work. He is always casting the spotlight on those who work around him; it’s in his DNA.

Like now that he’s in the valley at eBay, like, WOW!, it’s totally different. In December 2007 Mike was named CMO of eBay, and has been absorbing the culture and pulse of working at eBay. There’s no doubt that Mike will work with his team in the Valley to make sure that eBay continues to make its mark and make it stick.

Kudos Mike! Welcome to the Hall of Fame.
